NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Jordan School District Board of Education will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the JATC South Campus (Board Conference Room), 12723 S. Park Avenue (2080 West), Riverton, Utah for consideration of boundary changes. There are four separate areas being considered for a boundary change:
- Area 1 – Airport Area. This change would move public and industrial land near the South Valley Regional Airport from Copper Hills High School to West Jordan High School, aligning elementary, middle, and high school boundaries along the Union Pacific railroad tracks.
- Area 2 – Homestead at Butterfield. This proposal would adjust boundary lines in a new housing development near Herriman Elementary, moving 11 students from Oak Leaf Elementary to Herriman Elementary.
- Area 3 – South Area. This adjustment would move elementary, middle, and high school boundaries to align with the recently completed Mountain View Corridor extension.
- Area 4 – Juniper Crest Area. This proposal would change the elementary and middle school boundaries between Ridge View, Juniper, and Blackridge Elementary Schools and between Fort Herriman and South Hills Middle Schools.

Board of Education Member Vacancy
Voting District 5
The Board of Education of Jordan School District announces a midterm vacancy in Voting District 5. Voting District 5 geographically covers some areas within the cities of Copperton, Herriman, South Jordan, and West Jordan. The Board of Education will meet on Monday, Nov. 23 at 4 p.m. and/or Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2026 at 4 p.m. to interview applicants for this position. These meetings will take place in the Jordan Academy for Technology and Careers South Campus, 12723 S. Park Avenue (2080 West), Riverton UT. It is expected the Board will appoint a person at its Nov. 24, 2026 6:30 p.m. business meeting to fulfill the remainder of the unexpired term that runs through Dec. 31, 2028.
The qualifications for a local board of education (Utah Code 20A-14-202, 20A-9-201) are:
- Be a U.S. Citizen.
- Shall have been a resident of the local school board district in which the person is seeking election for at least one year as of the date of the election [appointment].
- Be and remain a registered voter in the local school board district from which the member is elected or appointed.
- Maintain primary residence within the local school board district from which the member is elected or appointed.
- A member of a local school board may not, during the member’s term in office, also serve as an employee of that Board.
