 Beginning July 1, 2009, a new Jordan School District Board of Education will direct public education in Bluffdale, Copperton, Herriman, Riverton, South Jordan and West Jordan. The new Board, which was sworn in on July 15, 2008, will spend its first year preparing for a transfer of control from the current Jordan Board of Education. In addition, a transition team representing those same west-side cities is meeting with a team from the Canyons School District to allocate schools, property and other assets "in a way that is fair and equitable to both the remaining district and the new district" as required by law. |
