South Valley School

About South Valley School

South Valley School has been part of Jordan School District for over 30 years. The remodeled school opened in 2003 on land donated by Marv and Margaret Jensen. Gene Fullmer, a West Jordan native and two-time Middleweight champion of the World trained at Marv’s gym and was managed by Marv. Memorabilia from Marv and Gene can be found in the trophy case in the school lobby.

At South Valley School, post-high students learn the skills needed to maximize their independence and success as they transition from the school environment to their community. The focus expands beyond the school building walls and reaches into the communities surrounding us. There is an emphasis on community access, work opportunities, public transportation, independent living skills, friendships & socialization, character education, self-advocacy, and decision making.

Wood Shop and Engraving programs are located on campus and provide early work opportunities for middle and high school special education students as well as our South Valley students.
