It was a day to build family, community and connections at Herriman High School. School counselor Cindy Watkins was looking for a way to support students of immigrant families and let them know they are not alone. So, Ms. Watkins organized a “Be the Change” event at Herriman High where students in clubs like “Latinos In Action” shared their own personal stories of hope and being part of a caring community.
Students who attended say they walked away feeling like they are not alone and that they can achieve their goals, making dreams come true.
Thanks, Herriman High, for giving students an opportunity to “Be the Change.”
