This school year, Jordan School District students are once again stepping up in a big way to help save lives in Utah. Student groups like Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) work so hard to organize the drives and make them successful. That was the case recently at West Jordan High School where they collected blood, all of which will stay right here in Utah.
The blood collected is given to cancer patients, transplant patients, surgery patients, accident and trauma victims, anemia patients, sickle cell patients and so many, many more.
ARUP says they cannot stress enough how grateful they are for each high school sponsored blood drive. The students, teachers, advisors, and donors are heroes! Their time and efforts literally help to save hundreds of lives, and they do it all while balancing schoolwork and teaching.
Copper Hills High School will hold the next blood drive on Thursday, Sept. 19, Riverton High School on Wednesday, Oct. 2, and Bingham High School on Friday, Oct. 11.
Thanks to all our students, staff, and donors for providing life-saving blood to Utahn’s in their time of need.
