It is always fun to be in our school cafeterias, but this week there is even more fun to go along with the great food. That’s because this is National School Lunch Week, a time to celebrate the delicious and nutritious meals served up every day by our amazing school lunch staff. The theme for this week is “School Lunch Pirates, Find Your Treasure.” At Ridge View Elementary School they are embracing the theme with lunch workers dressed up as pirates, inviting students to walk the plank to get meals with pirate themed names.
Jordan School District cafeterias serve more than 30,000 meals every single day thanks to the dedication and hard work of 500 cafeteria employees. Fresh bread and desserts are made from scratch, as well as lasagna, chili, chicken enchiladas, even calzones. The most popular menu items are mandarin orange chicken, pizza, and corn dogs.
Thanks to our great cafeteria workers for making every day such a wonderful dining experience for students, teachers, staff, and parents!
