West Jordan Police Department’s K9 Unit showcased their officers and canine companions’ training and skills to a 7th grade CTE class at West Hills Middle School. Officers demonstrated how they create a bond with the dogs and train them to work alongside their human counterparts to assist in various law enforcement tasks like detecting concealed substances, finding missing persons, subduing dangerous individuals, and clearing buildings. During the presentation, students could ask questions and witness how the K9s are used in everyday law enforcement activities.
