Students Find an Immersive Experience at the Francophonie Fun Fair

Students dance at the Francophonie Fun FairElementary French dual language immersion (DLI) students were treated to French culture and cuisine while immersed in the French language at the Francophonie Fun Fair over winter break. The event, hosted by the Copper Hills High School French Bridge Program, is a way for the high school students to help support elementary DLI student’s language skills while getting the service hours required for their program.

The French Bridge program treated students to traditional French dances and games, and prepared food found in French-speaking countries. The high school students tied the event together by speaking French with the DLI students as they engaged them in the festival activities.

Great job, Copper Hills High students and staff; you created a fun and memorable experience for DLI students while engaging their language skills.

Ten Jordan School District elementary schools offer DLI in Chinese, French, Portuguese, or Spanish. If you are interested in one of Jordan School District’s dual language immersion programs, please visit immersion.jordandistrict.org.
