Bastian Elementary Students Make Beautiful Blankets Hoping to Bring Comfort to Primary Children’s Patients

It was a class project that turned into a lesson in creativity and caring for other kids. Bastian Elementary School teacher Miranda Nilsen decided to teach her sixth grade students how to tie fleece blankets, giving them a skill she has enjoyed in her own life for many years. The students were so excited about the project, they jumped on board making dozens of colorful and comforting blankets.

When the project was complete, Mrs. Nilsen delivered the beautiful blankets to Primary Children’s Hospital in Lehi where they will bring warmth, a sense of security, and comfort to children who just need a little something extra to brighten their day.

Congratulations to Mrs. Nilsen and her students for learning a new skill and letting other children know how much they care.
