Nearly 2,000 Jordan School District fifth graders got an experience they will not soon forget at the Delta Center this week. They packed into courtside and lower bowl seats to see the Salt Lake City Stars, the NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, take on the Iowa Wolves, a Minnesota Timberwolves affiliate.
The game started with Majestic Elementary School performing the National Anthem and included t-shirt tosses, appearances by the Utah Jazz dancers, and visits from Buster, the Stars mascot. The energetic crowd cheered the Stars on to a 130-127 victory.
Thank you to the Stars for teaching the students about the many career opportunities available in professional sports besides being an athlete and to Med One for providing the tickets free of charge.
