Fort Herriman Student Named Ambassador for Peace by Utah State School Board

Fort Herriman Student Named Ambassador for Peace by Utah State Board of Education Congratulations to Abigail Owens of Fort Harriman Middle School, who has proudly been named Utah’s distinguished finalist, or “Ambassador for Peace,” for the 2025 “Do The Write Thing” scholarship program. This recognition highlights her exceptional writing and deep understanding of the impacts of violence in today’s society.

The “Do The Write Thing Challenge,” sponsored by the Utah State Board of Education Prevention and the National Campaign to Stop Violence, provides seventh and eighth grade students with an opportunity to reflect on how violence affects their lives and communities and what they think can be done to create a safer environment for youth.

Great job, Abigail, for exemplifying what it means to be an “Ambassador for Peace.” You serve as an inspiration for everyone in our state.
