Jordan PREP Students Proudly Graduate from SLCC with One-Year Certificates

Six Jordan PREP students graduate SLCCIt was a proud and emotional moment at Salt Lake Community College’s graduation as six high school seniors from Jordan School District walked across the stage at SLCC’s graduation ceremony, receiving their one-year college degrees three weeks before graduating from high school.

These students began their journey in the Jordan PREP program when they were just 11 and 12 years old. The rigorous, math-focused summer enrichment program identifies high-achieving middle school students with a strong interest in STEM and prepares them for advanced academic success.

Thanks to the leadership of Stacy Pierce, who brought the program to Jordan School District, the initiative has grown significantly. Ms. Pierce said, “The students will change the world for generations to come.”

As these students prepare to graduate from high school and pursue their dreams, Jordan School District celebrates their achievements and looks forward to the bright futures they will undoubtedly build.
