A Night to Remember for Riverton High School Teacher Meeting Barry Manilow in Person and Being Recognized During Concert

Riverton High Music Teacher meets Barry Manilow It was an unbelievable night for Riverton High School Performing Arts Director Jason Weimer, a night he will never forget. Mr. Weimer met one-on-one with Barry Manilow prior to the music legend’s concert at the Maverik Center in West Valley City Monday night. Then, about half way through his concert, Manilow asked Mr. Weimer to stand with a huge spotlight directed on him, and be recognized by the crowd of concert goers.

Mr. Weimer received the Barry Manilow Music Teacher Award for the state of Utah. The award is made possible through the Barry Manilow Music Project and celebrates extraordinary music educators who inspire, uplift, and transform lives through the power of music. The award comes with a $10,000 check, which was presented to Jason Weimer.

During their meet and greet, Barry Manilow asked Jason Weimer about his love for music and what inspires him. They took pictures with Jason’s nine guests, including his wife, parents, and Riverton High School Principal Rochelle Waite.

Congratulations, Maestro Weimer, and thanks to Barry Manilow for his passion and commitment to supporting beloved music programs in our schools.
