It was a fun night celebrating Bingham High School students and staff at the monthly Jordan School District Board of Education meeting.
Bingham High senior, Jack Knudson, in a sense, turned things upside down when he talked about being the 107th student body president at the school knowing he had big shoes to fill. However, Jack pointed out that the one thing he is better at than pretty much any other student body president; he can do a handstand for 20 seconds. When challenged to prove it, Jack did just that, pulling off a 20-second handstand in front of Board members and meeting attendees. Way to go, Jack!
Jack also talked about the rich history and culture at Bingham High and this year’s theme which is “Ignite the Spark,” a theme selected to inspire students to love their school and their classes. He spoke proudly of Bingham High student accomplishments in academics and athletics and concluded by inviting the Board to join student body officers in a long-standing Bingham High tradition, the pin ceremony. The ceremony involved giving each Board member a BHS pin, with recipients responding, “It’s a great day to be a Miner,” reinforcing the school culture and community.
