Students Earn Their Knighthood After Slaying Third Grade Math Lessons

Students in "Knight Dubbing" ceremony At Butterfield Canyon Elementary School, excitement filled the air as third grade students prepared for a magical ceremony to honor those who had worked so hard to gain great knowledge. For months, students studied their math facts in preparation for a skills test to induct them into the Butterfield Canyon “Division Tables Knighthood.”

During the monthly “Knighting” ceremony, the school’s PTA rolled out the red carpet for students who had demonstrated they mastered their math facts and slayed the “Division Dragons.” Principal Kimberley Andersen dressed in her finest queen’s gown and adorned with a ceptor, greeted the students as they knelt before her, marking their transition from math squire to math knight.

Each student then received a certificate that read, “By slaying the Division Dragons, you have been dubbed a Knight of the Division Tables.” Each student was then able to pick out their favorite 3D printed knight or dragon and greet their families with their new status at the school.

Congratulations to all the students who have earned their title among the many knights of Butterfield Canyon. Your stories of triumph will live on for years to come.
