The Force was with the students and staff at Southland Elementary as the school was visited by the 501st Legion to celebrate “May the Fourth Be With You.” Many members of the 501st Legion dress as characters from the Empire in the Star Wars universe but spend their time doing charity work, including their visit to Southland to encourage students not to be lured to the dark side of the Force and instead choose kindness. Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Boba Fett, the Mandalorian, and more visited with students before parading through the hallways. Principal York even sat down with representatives from the Empire to remind them to be on their best behavior.
