JSD Elementary School Band Teacher to Perform in the Pasadena Rose Parade
We are thrilled to announce that Lisa Blodgett, a talented band teacher at Majestic Elementary Arts Academy, has been chosen to participate in the prestigious Pasadena Rose Parade on January 1, 2026! Lisa will join over 300 band directors from across North America as part of the “Band Directors Marching Band.”
This special parade entry, which will be viewed by millions, titled “Saluting America’s Band Directors,” celebrates the theme “America’s band directors: We teach music.” We teach live.” It honors the incredible commitment and achievements of band directors and music educators who have dedicated their careers to mentoring and inspiring students.
Lisa recently shared her excitement about this opportunity with KSL TV’s Alex Cabrero.
You can catch the Pasadena Rose Parade starting at 9 am MST on KSL 5 TV, ABC 4 TV, Telemundo Utah 20 TV, Univision Utah 32 TV, and on streaming platforms like Pluto TV and Fubo Sports.
Roar Store at West Jordan Middle Helps Students with Holiday Shopping
In December, students at West Jordan Middle School had the opportunity to complete some of their holiday shopping during school hours. Thanks to generous donations, the school set up its second annual Roar Holiday Store inside a classroom, stocked with toys, books, clothes, shoes, and many other items. The Lions at WJMS earn Pride Points throughout the year for showcasing school values. Those points are later redeemed for prizes and, this month, a holiday shopping trip.
Over 400 students made a trip to the Roar Store this year to bring home up to two gifts for parents, grandparents, siblings, or friends this holiday season. After they finished shopping, WJMS staff helped out with the gift wrapping.
Thank you to everyone who donated items and time to make the Roar Store a success!
