Foothills Elementary Plays Dominoes with Cereal for Good Cause

In a thrilling conclusion to Foothills Elementary School’s successful cereal drive, students lined the halls with boxes of Cheerios, Froot Loops, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and other breakfast favorites for a massive game of dominoes. Roar Store at West Jordan Middle Helps Students with Holiday Shopping

In December, students at West Jordan Middle School had the opportunity to complete some of their holiday shopping during school hours. Thanks to generous donations, the school set up its second annual Roar Holiday Store inside a classroom, stocked with toys, books, clothes, shoes, and many other items. The Lions at WJMS earn Pride Points throughout the year for showcasing school values. Those points are later redeemed for prizes and, this month, a holiday shopping trip.

Over 400 students made a trip to the Roar Store this year to bring home up to two gifts for parents, grandparents, siblings, or friends this holiday season. After they finished shopping, WJMS staff helped out with the gift wrapping.

Thank you to everyone who donated items and time to make the Roar Store a success!

Silver Crest Elementary Students’ Spare Change Helps to Bring Big Change to Their Community

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, the student council at Silver Crest Elementary School led a fundraising drive called “Change for Cancer” to support the Huntsman Cancer Institute and help those battling cancer.
Throughout the month of December, students reached out to local community members asking them to donate their spare change to the cause and that they did, raising almost $1,000! The students chose Huntsman because two teachers at Silver Crest Elementary School are currently undergoing treatment for cancer.
Great job to all the students and staff who made this donation possible and for bringing the community together to help fight cancer!
