Students at Southland Elementary got a jump start on celebrating the upcoming Chinese New Year. Chinese Dual Language Immersion (DLI) students created a New Year festival for their classmates in every grade to join in the fun. Students could learn to use chopsticks, paint horses to celebrate the upcoming Year of the Horse, practice calligraphy, and play traditional Chinese games. Southland is one of four elementary schools in Jordan School District with a Chinese DLI program.
