JSD Athletic Trainers Focus on Safety First in Sports

They work hard to safeguard the health and well-being of student athletes, focusing on injury prevention on-site during practice and games.

On this episode of the Supercast, we head to Mountain Ridge High School to meet two amazing certified athletic trainers. Listen and hear about the difference they make in the lives of students in so many different sports, even impacting kids in band and drill.

One of the trainers is actually a Herriman High graduate who found huge success after high school as a four-time USA tumbling champion and a World Champion gold medalist.

Herriman High and Mountain Ridge High Recognized by State for Accomplishments in English Language Learner Graduation Rates

Herriman High team helping with graduation ratesThey work tirelessly to make sure all students succeed and now Herriman High School, Mountain Ridge High School, an ML task force, and Language and Culture Services are being recognized for their hard work.

The State Board of Education honored both Mountain Ridge and Herriman High with a 2025 USBE Graduation Rate for Students Learning English Certificate. The two JSD high schools had graduation rates higher than the state average of 88% with more than 40 students learning English in their individual 2025 graduating classes. Mountain Ridge had a graduation rate of 89.09% for students learning English and Herriman High had a graduation rate of 89.87% for English language learners.

Congratulations to everyone for their hard work on school consultations, family engagement, celebrations of WIDA, and having such a significant impact on the families and students.

Jordan District Recognizes Riverton High School Coach Paul Mozier as We Continue to Celebrate National Coaches Day

This week, Jordan School District would like to #ThankACoach at each of our six UHSAA Member High Schools for the amazing work they do. A great coach is about more than just winning games. They teach skills, build character, and grow community in their schools. Today, we recognize Riverton High School soccer coach Paul Mozier. They teach skills, build character, and grow community in their schools. Today, we recognize Riverton High School soccer coach Paul Mozier.

Here is what Riverton High had to say about Coach Mozier.

“Paul Moizer has been an integral part of student-athlete success at Riverton for over two decades. Coach Mozier is a Language Arts teacher and coaches both boys and girls soccer teams. He is organized, passionate, and always growing and improving. Not only has he won a state championship with boys soccer in 2014 and one with girls soccer in 2021, but he has also developed countless student-athletes to reach their potential on and off the field. He genuinely loves his players and helps them build consistent confidence through positive relationships, feedback, and always believing in them.”

JATC Students Attend “We Build Utah” Job Fair at Salt Lake Community College

Jordan Academy for Technology and Careers (JATC) students joined fellow high school and college students from around the Salt Lake valley at Salt Lake Community College for “We Build Utah.” The career exploration and job fair provided students with hands-on examples of careers in construction, architecture, interior design, engineering, and other related fields.

Students laid bricks, piloted a backhoe, and met with potential future employers during the day. Dozens of companies were on hand to answer questions about their industries, take resumes, and conduct on-the-spot interviews for summer jobs and internships.

Thanks to Salt Lake Community College for hosting the event, and all the companies that gave their time to educate Jordan District students on the breadth of careers available to them!

Jordan District Recognizes Bingham High School Coach Robby Duncan As We Continue To Celebrate National Coaches Day

Today we recognize Bingham High School cross country, wrestling and track coach Robby Duncan. Here is what Bingham High had to say about Coach Duncan.

“Coach Duncan began his coaching career in 1997 as an assistant, taking on an incredible load of three sports: cross country, wrestling, and indoor/outdoor track. Over the years, his dedication and leadership have shaped the lives of countless student-athletes. Under his guidance, athletes have achieved remarkable success, including four individual state championships, five team state titles, and even a national championship in 1999.

But Coach Duncan’s impact extends far beyond the playing field. As an English teacher, he continues to inspire and challenge students to excel academically, helping them grow as learners and individuals.

While his accomplishments as a coach and educator are impressive, what truly sets Coach Duncan apart is the person he is. Respected by students, athletes, and colleagues alike, he is admired not just for his knowledge and skill but for his character, humility, and the genuine care he shows to everyone around him.”
