Southland Elementary Promotes Pedestrian Safety with Green Ribbon Week

Have you wondered why the trees and fences surrounding Southland Elementary are decorated with green ribbons? The school is celebrating Green Ribbon Week to promote pedestrian safety. Students at Southland were encouraged to wear green to school, given green ribbons to tie to their backpacks, and taught to prioritize safe walking routes and behaviors when traveling to and from school.

Parents and students, when you see a green ribbon at our schools or in our community, take a moment to think about pedestrian safety and continue to put our students’ safety first!
