Superintendent’s Report
Dr. Anthony Godfrey thanked students, teachers, parents, administrators and education support professionals for working so hard and navigating school dismissal through the end of the school year. He also thanked the Jordan Education Foundation for recognizing Outstanding Educators with virtual and drive by home surprises and he congratulated Majestic Elementary School Principal Kathe Riding for being named Outstanding Principal of the Year. Dr. Godfrey recognized the Office of Communications for producing his video message. The superintendent congratulated Fort Herriman 8th grade student Sophia Parsons for being a national finalist in the “Do the Write Thing” competition.
Special Business Items
The Board approved the amended budget for the 2019-20 fiscal year. The Board approved proposed school LAND Trust Plans for 2020-21.
The Local Building Authority of Jordan School District authorized the issuance and sale of lease revenue bonds.
Patron Comments
Hillary Emmer, Copper Hills High counselor, thanked the Board for supporting school counselors and for offering Educator Grants.

- Jen Atwood reminded everyone that next week is Teacher Appreciation Week, asking that everyone reach out and thank a teacher.
- Darrell Robinson thanked all teachers for achieving such a monumental task during school dismissal and said he is grateful for all the extra hours educators are putting in each day.
- Tracy Miller reported on the Facilities Advisory Committee which reviewed a draft of summer projects for 2021.
- Matt Young reported on the Finance and Audit Advisory Committee which is exploring the possibility of having the District provide employees with a breakdown of their earnings. They continue to address employee compensation.
Closed, Study Session
In closed session, Board members discussed personnel, property, an employee appeal, potential litigation, security and negotiations.
In open session, they discussed graduation 2020 plans, the potential for summer tournaments and performances, fourth quarter grading and other dismissal guidelines. They talked about the TSSA plan approval process and an exit strategy for year-round schools. The Board discussed potential changes to the year-round calendar for 2020-21, the Olympia Hills Development, New Administrative Policy DP379 LEA-Specific Educator License Requirements and reviewed Policy AA414 Student Overnight Travel. They also discussed goals for student achievement and the REAL Salt Lake Academy Mortgage.
