Kai said the use of new technology is helping students to connect further with activities like their annual Kings Peak Talent Show. He said teachers and staff are amazing and always looking out for students and their success. Kai thanked the Board for supporting the school and making what they do for students possible.

Superintendent’s Report
Dr. Anthony Godfrey, Superintendent of Schools, said he appreciates the Board’s support of schools like Kings Peak, giving students another option in their education. He thanked them for the on-going investment in options for students like the Jordan Virtual Learning Academy.

Superintendent Godfrey shared his annual report to the Board of Education saying he appreciates the opportunity to lead the District on a daily basis and it is not something he takes for granted. He said, thanks to the Board, JSD is not limited in what it can accomplish for students. Dr. Godfrey said overall he is thrilled where things are headed in the District, recognizing all of the great people who surround him in the work being done. He said his weekly podcast, The Supercast, continues to be very effective in helping him stay connected with all employee groups.

The Superintendent gave an overview of student academic achievements highlighting the graduation rate of 91.8%, which he says is the highest since graduation rates were calculated. He also reported that drop-out rates are the lowest they have been in the history of JSD and academic growth at the middle school level is very impressive along with AP exam pass rates.

The Superintendent updated the Board on the measures being taken to enhance safety and security in our schools and buildings and the numerous ways Jordan is empowering employees, which include many professional development opportunities. Dr. Godfrey said he is proud of the implementation of Portrait of a Graduate and the District’s Strategic Plan, which are giving employees across the board purpose and meaning to the work they do.

The Superintendent concluded by saying the Board’s support is the only way JSD can achieve all the things it does.
