The following are new administrative assignments:

    • Carolyn Gough, principal at Riverton High, appointed Administrator of Teaching & Learning, replacing Shelley Nordick who is retiring.
    • Rochelle Waite, principal at South Hills Middle, appointed principal at Riverton High replacing Carolyn Gough.
    • James Groethe, assistant principal at Bingham High, appointed principal at South Hills Middle replacing Rochelle Waite.
    • Frederico Rowe, principal at Northport Elementary in Robbinsdale Area Schools, Minnesota, appointed staff assistant in Teaching & Learning.
    • Beverly Griffith, principal at South Jordan Elementary, transferred to Teaching & Learning.
    • Bryce Eardley, principal of Dugway Schools in Tooele School District, appointed principal at South Jordan Elementary replacing Beverly Griffith.
    • Staci Moore, assistant principal at Majestic Elementary, appointed principal at Bluffdale Elementary replacing Cynthia Tingey who is retiring.
    • Trudy Jack, administrative intern at Ridge View Elementary and Rosamond Elementary, appointed assistant principal at Majestic Elementary replacing Staci Moore.
    • Michelle Kilcrease, assistant principal at Blackridge Elementary and Foothills Elementary, transferred to ALPS at Riverton Elementary.
    • Baylee Lansford, assistant principal at Elk Meadows Elementary and Monte Vista Elementary, transferred to Blackridge Elementary and Foothills Elementary.
    • April Thompson, administrative intern at Aspen Elementary and Terra Linda Elementary, transferred to Elk Meadows Elementary and Monte Vista Elementary.

    • Brandon Larsen, band teacher at Herriman High, appointed assistant principal at a secondary school, location TBD.

Two Mountain Creek Middle School Students with Special Needs Selected to Represent Utah in the Rose Bowl Parade

Two students hold their musical instrumentsIt will be the experience of a lifetime for two Mountain Creek Middle School students with special needs. Jaymi Bonner, an 8th grade student who plays violin and Emma Figueroa, an 9th grade student who plays trumpet, will both be representing Utah in the Rose Bowl parade. The students were selected, along with others who have special needs, from all over the country. They all participate in a program called “United Sound.” The program focuses on relationship building and partners special needs students with peer tutors who assist and support them playing in their individual school bands.

Jaymi and Emma are busy preparing for the once in a lifetime event with their peer tutor, who will travel to the Rose Bowl and participate in the parade with the girls.

Thanks to everyone at Mountain Creek Middle School for supporting this program, especially Special Education teacher Karlee English and Music teacher Cameron Elliott.

Community Helps Fund Jordan Education Foundation Classroom Grants Totaling $352,987 for Teachers Throughout the District

Westvale Elementary staff holds up a check from the Jordan Education Foundation It was an unexpected surprise for teachers throughout Jordan School District right before the holiday season. Thanks to generous donors in our community, the Jordan Education Foundation was able to award a total of $352,987 to teachers and classrooms funding 637 projects. Grants will be used to purchase STEM supplies, language immersion libraries, guided reading books, Chromebooks, flexible seating options, applied science materials, math manipulatives, listening centers, sensory items, software, and other valuable classroom tools and equipment.

The Foundation is sending a special thanks to all those who donated, including Rocky Mountain Power, KSOP Tools for Schools, Wasatch Financial, and the JEF Annual Golf Classic sponsors for their support of the Classroom Grant program.

Our thanks to the Jordan Education Foundation for all of their hard work on behalf of teachers and students in the classroom every day!

Jordan School District Esports Competing in PlayVS Fall League Playoffs

Join us in congratulating our high school Esports teams for a very successful fall season. That incredible season has resulted in five of our schools qualifying for a spot in the playoffs!

Playoffs start today, Wednesday, December 1 and we invite you to cheer on your school as they vie to be champion in the following titles:

  • JATC North – Super Smash – streaming on TV/JATCESPORTS
  • Copper Hills High – Super Smash and Rocket League – streaming on TV/ESPORTSCHHS
  • Herriman High – League of Legends – streaming on TV/HERRIMANHIGHESPORTS
  • West Jordan High – Rocket League
  • Mountain Ridge High – Rocket League

2022-23 Open Enrollment

The school choice open enrollment (permit) window for the 2022-23 school year will open on December 1, 2021.  Students currently attending on a school choice permit will NOT need to reapply for a permit if they are remaining at the same school for the 2022-23 school year. Students who desire to move schools or any student currently on the waitlist without a permit must reapply to be considered for a 2022-23 permit.
