It is a success story about students giving back. Fort Herriman Middle School launched its annual Diamondback Give Back event hoping to raise money for three charities this year including the Kauri Sue Hamilton School, local families in need and the Jordan Education Foundation’s “Christmas for Kids.” The students managed to raise $7,000!They sold candy, donuts, hot chocolate, and soda during the school day, held a school dance, and a big community event on December 9, where they invited everyone to come out and purchase punch cards for various activities. All proceeds raised went directly to the charities. The community event was action-packed holiday fun and included food trucks, performances, a market with crafts, treats for sale made by students and staff, a children’s room with Santa, Christmas stories, and cookie decorating.
With the money raised in their Diamondback Give Back, Student Body Officers were able to shop for toys for Kauri Sue students and they purchased much-needed items for families in need. They personally delivered the toys to Kauri Sue and learned more about the great work being done at the school.
We are proud of Fort Herriman students and staff and grateful for the generosity of the Fort Herriman community!
