West Jordan High Dance Company Takes the Stage at Capitol Theater with Inspiring Performance

They are a very talented group of young dancers hoping to make a difference in the lives of others. Recently, the West Jordan High School Dance Company had the opportunity to attend a “Dance for Life” event at the Capitol Theatre in downtown Salt Lake City. “Dance for Life” is a nonprofit organization working to bring awareness to suicide prevention. They also work to eliminate the negative stigma surrounding mental health struggles.

While at the Capitol Theater, West Jordan’s Dance Company was able to take a master jazz dance class from Elliana Walmsley of “Dance Moms.” They also performed with illustrious dance companies at the Dance for Life Suicide Prevention Gala.

You can see the West Jordan Dance Company yourself at their next community performance. That will be in Express Dance Company’s Halloween show, “Panic!” at the Mid-Valley Performing Arts Center on October 8, at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at: https://www.saltlakecountyarts.org/events/

Mountain Ridge High School Students Reach for the Stars with Bottle Rocket Science Project

MRHS students launch bottle rockets Mountain Ridge High School students took on a stimulating project involving launching bottle rockets to explore physics principles. Through this interactive project, students were tasked with designing, constructing, and testing their own rockets to observe how far they could soar. Fueled by water, the rockets utilized varying amounts of water to demonstrate the impact on their flight trajectory.

Kudos to the science teachers at Mountain Ridge High School for crafting such a captivating lesson for students. Initiatives like these propel students towards a deeper level of learning, fostering curiosity and hands-on engagement in science.
