Musical Sounds of the Jordan Youth Symphony Fun and Delightful

It was a special musical treat for Board of Education members, parents, family, and friends Tuesday evening at JATC South in Riverton. Some of the best young musicians you will find in Jordan School District were gathered for a fun and delightful concert. The student musicians are all part of the Jordan Youth Symphony.

Under the direction of Eric Perkins, Oquirrh Hills Middle School, and Jennifer Clark, Mountain Creek Middle School, the Jordan Youth Symphony is an audition symphony chosen primarily from the middle school band and orchestra programs in Jordan School District.

Thanks to the Jordan Youth Symphony for sharing their amazing music!

Herriman High School Choir, Orchestra, and Tour Concert Band Proud to Perform at National Vietnam Veterans Day Parade

It was a huge honor for the Herriman High School Choir, Orchestra, and Tour Concert Band. They were invited to perform recently at the National Vietnam Veterans Day Parade in Honolulu, Hawaii. The students, along with their music directors, represented Jordan School District and all of the State of Utah with amazing performances, showing their pride and tremendous talents.

The National Vietnam Veterans Day Parade takes place to pay tribute to those who served our nation for the cause of freedom and liberty. Honolulu and its historic Waikiki beach served as a perfect host and backdrop for the important commemoration and welcome home for veterans.

Bands not only marched in the parade, but they were an integral part of the Official Public Ceremony, performing as part of the mass band led by the Marine Forces Pacific Band.

Congratulations to Herriman High School for honoring veterans in such a meaningful way and giving veterans musical memories to last a lifetime.

West Jordan Middle School Student Art Show is Huge Success

They put their hearts into their artistic creations and it paid off in a huge way. Students at West Jordan Middle School let their creative juices flow, painting, drawing, sculpting, and creating about 500 works of art that were proudly on display at the school’s recent Student Art Show. The pieces were unique and colorful, and all created by budding young student artists. The show included a community reception for the public to enjoy.

Congratulations to everyone on an amazing show and creating beautiful works of art. Keep fostering and growing your incredible talents.
