Copper Hills High Assistant Principal Receives State Recognition for Being Champion for All Students

Picture of NoelaniNoelani Ioane is a kind and caring educator who has spent her career showing support and compassion for all students. Now this amazing Copper Hills High assistant principal is being recognized for her tireless work.

The Utah-based nonprofit IncludEd in Education selected Noelani as one of their “Education Equity Champion” award winners and recognized her at their recent 2026 conference. The group honored Noelani for her work striving to make sure all students have access to educational opportunities and to make sure all students receive the support they deserve to succeed. The group also played a touching video from students and colleagues congratulating Noelani on the award.

Congratulations, Noelani Ioane on this well-deserved recognition. Keep up the kind and compassionate work!

Rose Creek Raptors Roar Their Way to Glow Room Parties

Students at Rose Creek Elementary are glowing with school pride. By exhibiting great behavior in school and living the school values, classes can earn trips to the “Glow Room.” The room is decked out for a party, complete with blacklights, decorations, highlighters, games, and fun music.

Showing behavior that represents the school values of R.O.A.R. (Respect, Own your actions, Act safely, Ready to learn), students earn tallies that add up to tickets to a party. The fun has led to students filling up their class “ROAR” boards with great behavior as fast as possible to get back to the glow room for some more fun.

Brazilian Students Share Their Culture and Language with Bluffdale Students

Brazilian students joined students in Ms. Mueller’s Portuguese dual language immersion class at Bluffdale Elementary School.

Special guests from Brazil joined students in Ms. Mueller’s Portuguese dual language immersion class at Bluffdale Elementary School. The group of Brazilian students stopped by during their trip to Utah to share their culture and experiences growing up in a Portuguese-speaking country. They even brought some of their favorite candies and treats all the way from South America. Bluffdale students showcased what a day in an American school is like, bringing their new friends to lunch, English class, and recess to learn how to play American football. 

Thank you to everyone who helped bring two groups of students from across the globe together for an enriching cultural exchange for all involved.

South Jordan Middle Administration Slimed for Good Cause

In December, students at South Jordan Middle School banded together for spirit days and a holiday fundraiser to support Primary Children’s Hospital. The student body combined to raise over $2600 for Primary Children’s and unlocked some fun rewards in the process. Student body officers were pied in the face, but the grand finale was a sliming of the administration. SBO’s concocted a thick, cold, and blue slime that they poured on Mr. Jenson, Ms. Erickson, and Mr. Rambadt during lunch to celebrate raising funds for a great cause.

Are you interested in signing your kindergarten student up for one of Jordan School District’s Dual Language Immersion programs in first grade? Attend one of our parent meetings to learn more about the benefits of DLI!

Parent meetings are:

  • Jan.15, 2026, at 5 p.m. on Zoom
  • Jan.21, 2026, at 5 p.m. at the JATC-South Auditorium, 12723 S. Park Ave, Riverton

DLI is offered in four different languages at 10 elementary schools:

  • Chinese – (Eastlake, Foothills, Monte Vista, Southland)
  • French – (Fox Hollow)
  • Portuguese – (Bluffdale)
  • Spanish – (Herriman, Mountain Point, Riverside, Welby)
