Congratulations to Jordan PREP Plus High School Seniors for Their Inspiring Salt Lake Community College Graduation

It was an emotional and hard-earned Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) graduation day for eleven Jordan PREP Plus senior high school students in Jordan School District. The students were 11 and 12-years-old when they decided to join the Jordan PREP Program. It is a rigorous academic mathematics-based summer enrichment program that identifies high achieving middle school students with an interest in STEM and STEM fields.

Last Friday, the students walked in the SLCC graduation ceremony having earned a one-year degree, three weeks before even graduating high school! A big thanks to Stacy Pierce who is the driving force behind the program, bringing it to Jordan School District and the students we serve. Ms. Pierce says the graduates have led the way for 220 students now in the Jordan PREP pipeline. She said they will change the world for generations to come.

Superintendent Godfrey joined in the celebration to honor the graduates and their incredible accomplishments.

We wish these amazing students the very best as they now graduate high school and pursue their future goals and dreams! You have made us very proud.

Aspen Elementary School Has Sweet Surprise for Teacher Appreciation Week

They have been really cool for as long as anyone can remember. That’s why at Aspen Elementary School you will find a tribute to teachers in the form of pictures from their own elementary school days.

The big display of teachers as little tots is part of Teacher Appreciation Week at Aspen Elementary. Aspen students also wrote words of appreciation and thanks on a huge card for their beloved teachers. And, the school’s amazing PTA put a sweet dessert bar together for some of the sweetest, kind, and caring teachers around.

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

Now Showing in Schools Everywhere “Teacher Appreciation Week”

Students have the best seat in the house for Teacher Appreciation Week. And just like at the movies, teachers at Eastlake Elementary School were treated to popcorn with a clever ‘Create Your Own Popcorn Bar.’ The PTA also produced fantastic marques with colorful classroom door decorations

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

Happy National Teacher Appreciation Week!

Please take the time to give Jordan School District teachers a big thank you this week as we celebrate National Teacher Appreciation Week 2024.

This is a week for honoring teachers and recognizing the lasting contributions they make in the lives of students. We thank all JSD teachers for their kindness, generosity, and patience working with students. We honor teachers for their dedication to the job and willingness to try new things.

We also want to thank our substitute teachers for the important work they do in our classrooms, supporting education and students throughout the District.

At Westvale Elementary School there are signs of Teacher Appreciation Week everywhere. The PTA and parent volunteers did a great job decorating doors with a garden theme that is colorful and meaningful. It was also Star Wars Day at Westvale with Assistant Principal David Hullinger perfectly transformed into the character Bobba Fett!

Enjoy Teacher Appreciation Week everyone. We appreciate JSD teachers every single day!

Kauri Sue Hamilton Students Take the Stage in Fun and Colorful Production of “Finding Nemo”

It was a moment of pride for parents and fabulous fun for students and staff. Kauri Sue Hamilton School students brought the story of “Finding Nemo” to life on stage this past week.

It all started with a goal to create a space where every student could shine, and students did indeed shine on stage. “Finding Nemo” with its themes of overcoming obstacles and discovering one’s strengths, was a perfect fit for Kauri Sue students and staff.

Weeks of innovative rehearsals tailored to highlight each student’s unique talents paved the way for a performance unlike any other. On performance days the atrium was alive with lots of energy.

Thank you to everyone who supported our students and staff for the production. A special thanks to our Music Therapist, Cassie Bringhurst, for the time and effort she put into making this possible.

Congratulations and huge applause to everyone involved!
