Jordan Virtual Learning Academy Students Enjoy Boo-tiful Halloween

It was a day that turned into a wicked good time for students in the Jordan Virtual Learning Academy on Wednesday. That’s because they all gathered for a Halloween Trunk or Treat, not virtually, but in person. The students and staff had frightening fun dressing up in creative costumes. They followed the path around cars and trucks wondering “witch “way to the candy and treats? It was a bewitching time and fun for all on Halloween eve!

Happy Halloween from students and staff at the Jordan Virtual Learning Academy.

Celebrating National School Lunch Week

It is always fun to be in our school cafeterias, but this week there is even more fun to go along with the great food. That’s because this is National School Lunch Week, a time to celebrate the delicious and nutritious meals served up every day by our amazing school lunch staff. The theme for this week is “School Lunch Pirates, Find Your Treasure.” At Ridge View Elementary School they are embracing the theme with lunch workers dressed up as pirates, inviting students to walk the plank to get meals with pirate themed names.

Jordan School District cafeterias serve more than 30,000 meals every single day thanks to the dedication and hard work of 500 cafeteria employees. Fresh bread and desserts are made from scratch, as well as lasagna, chili, chicken enchiladas, even calzones. The most popular menu items are mandarin orange chicken, pizza, and corn dogs.

Thanks to our great cafeteria workers for making every day such a wonderful dining experience for students, teachers, staff, and parents!

Exciting, Fun, and Friendship Building Day as Students Compete in Middle School Unified Soccer Tournament

It was an exciting day for middle school students as they joined forces competing in a Unified Sports Soccer Tournament at the RSL Zion’s Bank Outdoor Stadium in Herriman. Seven Jordan School District middle schools, along with one Alpine District middle school competed. Unified sports focuses on inclusion, empathy, and sport. The tournament brought together students of all abilities, playing together on teams in five divisions. They hit the big stage playing field at Zion’s stadium, in front of very enthusiastic fans having fun, building friendships, and celebrating their winning ways.

Congratulations to everyone involved in the tournament including the student athletes, parents, and organizers of this fantastic event!
