Summer Food Service Program: Free Meals for Kids 18-Years-Old and Younger

Jordan School District is once again offering a Summer Food Service Program. This program provides nutritious meals free of charge for kids 18-years-old and younger from Monday, June 6 through Friday, August 5. ***There will be no meal service on July 4 and July 25.

  • Breakfast Service: 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.
  • Lunch Service: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
  • Locations:
    • Majestic Elementary School, 7430 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan
    • Heartland Elementary School, 1451 W. 7000 South, West Jordan
    • Oquirrh Elementary School, 7165 S. Paddington Road, West Jordan
    • Westvale Elementary School, 2300 W. 8660 South, West Jordan

District Art Teachers Recognized by USBE for Excellence in Arts Education

Join us in congratulating two amazing Jordan School District teachers honored with a Sorenson Legacy Award for Excellence in Arts Education. Westland Elementary School art teacher Lori Nickerson received the award for her excellence in elementary arts integration. Blackridge Elementary School music teacher Joshua Roberts received the award for excellence in music instruction.

The Utah State Board of Education (USBE) supported by a grant from the Sorenson Legacy Foundation honored the educations at a special banquet. The awards recognize distinguished educators who embrace the arts with excellence in their practice at Utah’s public schools.

Congratulations Jordan School District 2022 Class of Retirees

West Jordan High School students sing to retireesIt was a special night as the Jordan School District Board of Education recognized and honored members of the 2022 class of retirees. The Board sponsored a special dinner and the West Jordan High School Madrigals, directed by Keith Evans, performed a selection of beautiful musical numbers for the retirees.

This year, Diane Dennison is the longest serving retiree with 42 years working in Jordan School District as an elementary school teacher. The 2022 class of retirees spent a total of 2,325 years in education.

Congratulations and thank you for your dedication and countless years of service! Your hard work serving students throughout Jordan School District has made a lasting impression on young lives. Best of luck in your retirement.
