Supercast Episode 100: An Emotional Trip Down Memory Lane with “Dr. Z,” Former Principal of the Old Bingham Middle School

On this special 100th edition of the Supercast, Superintendent Godfrey takes an emotional trip down memory lane with his long-time friend, former boss and mentor, Dr. Al Zylstra.


Update on New Elementary School in Herriman

Construction on the new elementary school is on schedule for the building opening for the 2022-23 school year. The exterior walls of the building are up, allowing for builders to focus on building out the roof deck. In addition, construction crews are working to seal the building before winter.

The school will feature 30 classrooms, a dual purpose gymnasium and cafeteria, a media center, and administrative offices. The school’s name and principal will be announced later this year.

A Big Welcome Back to JSD High School Students, Teachers and Staff

They rolled out the Jaguar blue carpet to welcome students, teachers and staff back on the first day of school at West Jordan High School. Students are back in class at all of our high schools and we wish everyone the best 2021-22 school year filled with success and memories to last a lifetime.

We are excited to have elementary and middle school students, teachers and staff back in our classrooms tomorrow.

7th Grade Students Start the 2021-22 School Year

For many students, this is their first time visiting their new schools. Student body officers and school staff were on hand to help students use lockers and find classes.

Brand New Aspen Elementary School Ready to Welcome Students

Excitement is in the air as Aspen Elementary School gets ready to welcome students for the very first time. Teachers have been busy preparing their classrooms and Principal Suzanne Williams can’t wait to start the year, get to know students and their parents and offer the best educational opportunities for all students enrolled in the beautiful new school.

As the school year gets underway, students will select a school mascot and start new traditions at Aspen Elementary.

Aspen Elementary will hold a Back-to-School night on Monday, August 16, from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
