First Lady Abby Cox was on hand to help kick off Jordan School District’s annual “Unified Golf” event. It is part of the “Show Up for Unified Sports” initiative led by the First Lady and Special Olympics of Utah.

“Unified Golf” is an opportunity for middle school students of all abilities to come together as friends and have some fun. The Glenmoor Golf Course is host to this amazing event. Students received lessons in using a golf club, swinging, putting, and just enjoying the game and each other.

Nine Jordan School District middle schools participated in the event. Thanks to everyone involved for giving so many students the opportunity to come together and have fun with the game of golf.

Congratulations to Jordan PREP Plus High School Seniors for Their Inspiring Salt Lake Community College Graduation

It was an emotional and hard-earned Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) graduation day for eleven Jordan PREP Plus senior high school students in Jordan School District. The students were 11 and 12-years-old when they decided to join the Jordan PREP Program. It is a rigorous academic mathematics-based summer enrichment program that identifies high achieving middle school students with an interest in STEM and STEM fields.

Last Friday, the students walked in the SLCC graduation ceremony having earned a one-year degree, three weeks before even graduating high school! A big thanks to Stacy Pierce who is the driving force behind the program, bringing it to Jordan School District and the students we serve. Ms. Pierce says the graduates have led the way for 220 students now in the Jordan PREP pipeline. She said they will change the world for generations to come.

Superintendent Godfrey joined in the celebration to honor the graduates and their incredible accomplishments.

We wish these amazing students the very best as they now graduate high school and pursue their future goals and dreams! You have made us very proud.
