Welby Elementary School Counselor Honored by Jordan Education Foundation

Allisun Cartier with Superintendent and Mayor RamseyIt was a day Allisun Cartier won’t soon forget as she began her work day at Welby Elementary School. The Jordan Education Foundation surprised the school’s new counselor with a JEF Outstanding Educator award. Ms. Cartier is the first school counselor to receive the award and she was congratulated by staff at the school along with Superintendent Anthony Godfrey and South Jordan Mayor Dawn Ramsey.

Let the Fun Begin Honoring Jordan School District “Educators of the Year”

Members of the Jordan Education Foundation, along with District administrators, Superintendent Godfrey and Board members hit the road to have some fun this week. They were all smiles as they visited school after school surprising teachers with the JEF “Educator of the Year” awards.

This week they made 18 stops, and over the next few weeks they will visit every single school in the District surprising teachers with the coveted award.

Teachers who are recognized have a commitment and dedication to students and education, making a difference in young lives every day. We are so proud of the work carried out in our classrooms and thankful to our amazing educators.

Riverton High Student Racing to the Top Nationally in USA Luge

Orson ColbyHe is a junior at Riverton High School and already Orson Colby is making a name for himself on the national stage. Orson is a member of the USA Luge Team. He recently competed in Lake Placid where he was crowned National Champion Youth A, which is a huge accomplishment. In a sport measured to the millisecond, he won by 2.441!

Orson has been extremely busy this year competing in Latvia, Austria, Canada, Korea and the United States. He is the point leader in his age group and he hopes to represent the USA next year at the 2024 Youth Olympic Games in Gangwon, Korea.

Next stop for Orson is competing in Junior Nationals.

Supercast Episode 183: Celebrating Inclusion with Amazing Students & Unified Sports

Superintendent at inclusion eventsIt is a program that brings students of all abilities together, working as a team, building trust and a lifelong love of sports and respect for one another.

On this episode of the Supercast, we take you to Weber State University where Jordan School District students hit the court in a Special Olympics Unified Sports statewide basketball tournament. It is a tournament where everyone involved really walks away a winner because of their hard work, big hearts and having compassion for one another. Hear what Utah Governor Spencer Cox and First Lady Abby Cox have to say about these amazing athletes.


Amazing Student Art on Display at Majestic Art Festival

Majestic Arts Academy ArtworkIt was a fun night for the whole family at Majestic Elementary Arts Academy! Everyone came together to celebrate the many talents of students during an Art Showcase. Art by every single student was on display throughout the school and the pieces, paintings, posters and creations were simply amazing. Families could also participate in art activities, as the school invited everyone to get wild about art integration into subjects like math.
