Rose Creek Elementary School Students Do Si Do in Really Fun Dance Performance

Students square dancingThey have been hard at work and having fun rehearsing for a Country-Style Dance Performance at Rose Creek Elementary School. The school’s 4th grade students have been working with a square dance ‘caller’ learning how to Swing, Promenade, Sashay, and Do Si Do, dancing in a square with one couple on each side, facing the middle of the square. These dances have been around for a very long time, first documented in the 17th-century. It is a delight to watch the students catching on to the calls and having a great time as they circle right and circle left.

Parents are invited to attend the 4th grade dance performance tonight, April 13 at 6:30 p.m. at Rose Creek Elementary School.

Congratulations to the talented dancers and good luck with your performance!

Students Take the Stage to Celebrate Different Cultures with Beautiful Dance and Costumes

It was moving performance after performance as students at Elk Ridge Middle School joined Copper Hills High students on stage in a Multicultural Celebration. The event was organized by Elk Ridge Middle School’s Multicultural Club and included students in the Copper Hills High Asian American Association, Black Student Union, Latinos In Action, and People of the Pacific.

Performances by the different groups offered a beautiful display of cultural richness through music, dance, and traditional costumes. It was an opportunity to deepen social awareness and understanding of students who proudly represent different backgrounds and heritages.
Congratulations to everyone involved in the performances for sharing your talents and creating cultural awareness.
Special thanks to Multicultural Club teacher Mrs. Campos, Assistant Principal Danielle Hanson and Principal Bryan Leggat from Elk Ridge Middle School and Copper Hills High Assistant Principal Sterling Hunt for their role in this event.
