Some students at Majestic Elementary School are communicating and collaborating like never before despite trying times brought on by the pandemic and the changes are due, in part, by children participating in the Arts. BTS Visual Art Specialist Ishel Brimhall Hertz says art is bringing a richness and meaning to life and Majestic Elementary students are engaging more than ever, expressing their thoughts and emotions through their artwork.
Ms. Brimhall says one project that stands out this year is a STEAM collaboration. Students programmed Sphero robots to roll paint around in the style of abstract expressionist painter, Jackson Pollock. She says students worked together with their teammates to code programs for their robots and to paint the posters. It was exciting for students and is just one project making a difference in education and students’ lives.
