State Superintendent Joins Herriman Elementary School Students in Groundbreaking Celebration for Construction of a Brand New Elementary School in Herriman

State Superintendent of Public Instruction Sydnee Dickson addresses a group of studentsIt was a big day to celebrate as Jordan School District officially broke ground for a new elementary school in Herriman. Marika Dains and several teachers led a group of Herriman Elementary School students in a delightful performance. The students sang their hearts out with their own school song, “Sweet Herriman,” along with “Best Day of My Life.”

State Superintendent of Public Instruction Sydnee Dickson addressed the crowd talking about her time as a teacher in Jordan School District. She also thanked students for their strength and resilience in a very difficult year. Jordan School District Superintendent Anthony Godfrey delivered remarks along with Herriman City Council Member Sherrie Ohrn and Board of Education member Darrell Robinson.

Ronna Hoffman will be the principal of the new elementary school which will open in the 2022-23 school year.
