Herriman High School students have taken the skills they have learned through the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) program and their own life experiences to sponsor a project for a good cause. Ashinti St. Clair, Clark Fiedler, and Sofia Ampugiarroyo have partnered with Cucina Restaurant to raise money to send 1000 tents to Haiti to help victims of the 7.2 August earthquake.
For Ashinti growing up in Haiti and living through devastating earthquakes that destroyed her own home when she was just seven years old gives this project extra meaning. She talked with KSL TV about how her experience led her to help those experiencing what she went through. “We just slept, literally on the floor, just covered for us, and I remember like a tent would have been something we would have really appreciated back then.”
