Hundreds of Students Treated to Salt Lake City Stars Game, Learn About Possible Careers in the World of Professional Sports

Jordan School District Students at the Utah Stars GameIt was an exciting first for hundreds of 5th and 6th grade students in Jordan School District. They were guests at a recent Salt Lake City Stars basketball game at Vivint Smart Home Arena. The students brought the arena to life with loud cheers and encouragement as players took to the court against the Oklahoma City Blue. About 20 students were invited onto the court where they were allowed to high-five players as they were announced. There were lots of free t-shirts and pendants given out during the game as well.

Attending the game was part of “Career Day,” for the students. During breaks in the game, short videos were shown highlighting people who have found success working their dream job, not as an athlete, but other positions in professional sports; positions with the Utah Jazz like Director of Community Relations, Marketing Director, Web Developer, video production professional, and Vice President of Ticket Sales.

The students say attending the game and cheering on the Stars is an experience they won’t soon forget. They returned to school excited about new career opportunities as well.

Thanks to the Salt Lake City Stars for caring about students and their futures.
