It was an idea by Principal Garett York hoping to help students get excited about coming to school this year and it worked! Mr. York transformed Southland Elementary into Hogwarts School of Wizardry from the Harry Potter world. Inside you will find signs that say “magic awaits” for anyone entering the school each day and on any given day they may encounter Albus Dumbledore. There is also Gryffindor, one of the four Houses of Hogwarts where character traits of students are courage, chivalry, and determination.
