Fort Herriman Middle School Students Rally to Give Back in a Big Way

Students in choir preformanceIt is a success story about students giving back. Fort Herriman Middle School launched its annual Diamondback Give Back event hoping to raise money for three charities this year including the Kauri Sue Hamilton School, local families in need and the Jordan Education Foundation’s “Christmas for Kids.” The students managed to raise $7,000!They sold candy, donuts, hot chocolate, and soda during the school day, held a school dance, and a big community event on December 9, where they invited everyone to come out and purchase punch cards for various activities. All proceeds raised went directly to the charities. The community event was action-packed holiday fun and included food trucks, performances, a market with crafts, treats for sale made by students and staff, a children’s room with Santa, Christmas stories, and cookie decorating.

With the money raised in their Diamondback Give Back, Student Body Officers were able to shop for toys for Kauri Sue students and they purchased much-needed items for families in need. They personally delivered the toys to Kauri Sue and learned more about the great work being done at the school.

We are proud of Fort Herriman students and staff and grateful for the generosity of the Fort Herriman community!

Monte Vista Students Bring Magic of Holidays to Life with Loving Act of Kindness

Monte Vista students show kindnessWhen some students at Monte Vista Elementary School realized a little girl was spending time all alone at breakfast in the cafeteria, they decided to reach out and offer their friendship. Not only did they become friends, the group of girls decided to get the little girl a gift for the holidays. They found out she loves unicorns, so out of caring and kindness, they surprised their fellow student with a fun and cuddly unicorn that, simply put, touched her heart and made her smile.

Thank you, students for showing us all the power of kindness and for being amazing role models this holiday season and beyond!

Students Get a Surprise from School Bus Santa, Mrs. Claus and the Grinch

It is a holiday tradition for School Bus Santa and Mrs. Claus to show up and transport students to and from school leading up to the winter break. But this year, the Grinch joined the fun along with a Transportation elf.

Thanks to all of our school bus drivers and Transportation employees for making the season festive and for your kindness and caring for kids throughout Jordan School District.

Happy Holidays!
