Nearly 1000 students from 15 Jordan District Elementary Schools enjoyed some fun in the sun at Unified Field Day at Riverton High School. Students showed off their throwing arms in a softball toss, ran a 50-meter dash, and leaped in a long jump event.

Unified Field Day is part of the Special Olympics Unified Sports program, which promotes social inclusion through sports. The Unified Sports program brings together special needs students and their peers to participate in sports together to build camaraderie. Thank you to Kip Lambert at Destination for providing team shirts and to all the volunteers who made this a memorable day for these wonderful students.

Congratulations to the 2025 graduating class of South Valley School! This significant achievement marks not just the end of an important chapter but the beginning of new adventures and opportunities. Graduates, your hard work, dedication, and perseverance have brought you to this moment and we are incredibly proud of each one of you.

A high school student receiving an appointment to a United States Service Academy is a rare achievement, but Copper Hills High School has done something almost unheard of by having two students receive appointments to West Point to enroll in the United States Military Academy.

Both Asher Bowcutt and Zoe Hein are academic standouts with a 4.0 GPA and track and field stars who will take their talents to the Army right after graduating high school.

The Herriman Rugby team showed again why it is one of the country’s premier programs as the Mustangs fell just short of a National Championship. Herriman was one of eight teams in the country to be selected to compete for the Boys Single-School division title in Elkhart, Indiana. They started the tournament by defeating the defending champs, Gonzaga, 38-19. They then knocked off Xavier 22-15 before falling to St. Ignatius 22-17 in a hard-fought Championship game.

Congratulations to head coach Jeff Wilson, team captains Logan Youngblood, Lucky Fisi’ipeau, and Ryker Syddall, and the entire Mustang team for an amazing season. The team thanks Principal Todd Quarnberg and Herriman Mayor Lorin Palmer for their incredible support. A special thank you to all the coaches, parents, and fans who do so much to help support the team all season long.
