Holiday Musical Hit at Mountain Shadows Elementary School

It was months in the making and finally the curtain time arrived. Teachers and staff at Mountain Shadows Elementary School took to the stage performing “Elf Jr.” to the delight of students and others in the audience. “Elf Jr.” is a musical which follows the adventures of Buddy the Elf, a lovable human raised at the North Pole. When Buddy discovers he’s not an elf after all, he sets off to find his true identity in bustling New York City.

The cast did a great job with colorful and creative costumes, singing and dancing their way to the wonder and delight of students. Congratulations to everyone involved in this fun and festive performance!

Falcon Ridge Elementary Students Give the Gift of Warmth & Comfort

It is a warm gift from the heart made possible by some kind and giving students at Falcon Ridge Elementary School. What is known as “The Blanket Project” began at Falcon Ridge years ago by 5th grade teachers Shanda Sorensen and Carolyn Videtich. The project has grown, year after year, thanks to the hard work and passion of everyone involved. This year the 5th grade group of students managed to finish 199 warm and wonderful blankets! The blankets will provide warmth and comfort to grieving children at the Bradley Center and children recovering at Primary Children’s Hospital.

Thank you to all the students, teachers, and parents for your time, donations, and your labor of love helping others this holiday season!

Students Get Big Surprise on Their JSD School Bus!

It was an unexpected, but welcome surprise for some students on a Jordan School District school bus today. Santa Claus showed up behind the wheel wishing the kids a happy, healthy, and Merry Christmas! Santa left his sleigh and reindeer behind to transport students to school, even stopping to have his picture taken with some students from Falcon Ridge Elementary School who happen to be riding the school bus.

A big thanks to school bus driver Jon Jones for making sure “Santa Claus” had a turn taking kids to school, putting smiles on so many faces along the way. Now the students simply can’t wait for Santa’s return on Christmas Eve.
