Fun with Fox 13 at 7th Grade Agriculture Days

It was an experience to remember for thousands of Jordan School District students at this year’s 7th Grade Agriculture Day and Fox 13 got in on the fun. Morning show reporter Rich Bonaduce and photographer Doug Eldredge captured memorable moments with students and some of the animals making an appearance at the event held at the Utah State University Bastian Agricultural Center.

7th Grade Agriculture Days is an opportunity for students to spend two days learning about agriculture and its impacts on their lives. The event brings specialists from dozens of different agricultural-related organizations together with business to provide a hands-on educational experience. Students learned about different professions in the ag industry as well as how food makes its way from farms to the dinner table.

Great job to everyone involved in organizing such an engaging, hands-on event!

Calm Room at Bingham High Helps to Focus on Student Wellness Every Day

It is a peaceful place located just outside Bingham High School’s counseling center. School leaders celebrated the official opening of the “Calm Room” this week. It is a room which provides space for students to reset and adjust during the school day. Students check in with a wellness attendant and then are given access to the room for up to 10 minutes. The room is a perfect example of Bingham High’s prioritization of student well-being, along with academics and physical activity.

The “Calm Room” was made possible, in part, thanks to a grant from the Cook Center for Human Connection.

Thanks to everyone involved for making student health and wellness a priority.

South Valley Students Over the Moon Sharing Happy, Fun Times at Homecoming Dance

It was a night to remember for South Valley students who gathered for their own homecoming dance. The theme of the dance was “Harvest Moon.” Max Brown, a student at South Valley, was the amazing DJ providing a variety of music for students on the dance floor. There was also a homecoming picture booth and refreshments. Stylists from Taylor Andrews Academy in West Jordan provided free hair and makeup for students attending the dance.

Congratulations to the entire South Valley School team for making such magical moments and memories for students!
