Utah Jazz and Jordan Clarkson Provide Thanksgiving and Some Fun for Hundreds of Families

It was an afternoon of great fun and gratitude for about 350 families. The families received full Thanksgiving meals thanks to the generosity of the Utah Jazz and the Jordan Clarkson “JC Cares Foundation”. The meals were distributed at Heartland Elementary School with help of volunteers, the Jordan Education Foundation, and Heartland principal Buddy Alger and his staff.

The Jazz star player, Jordan Clarkson himself, showed up at Heartland Elementary, along with Phoenix Suns’ star Devin Booker, to meet with families, take pictures, sign autographs, and to serve up lots of smiles.

Thanks to Jordan Clarkson, the Utah Jazz, Devin Booker, and all the volunteers for making Thanksgiving happen for those who may have otherwise gone without. You are hero’s working for kids and their families in our communities!

Students Organize Day of Service to Support Service Members, Seniors, and Children with Special Needs in the Community

They are young people with big hearts who want to give back to the community. On Friday, students who attend the Jordan Virtual Learning Academy in grades K-12, came together in-person for a day of service to benefit others in the communities where they live. It was an opportunity for the online learning students to spend time together making a difference in the lives of others.

The students participated in tying blankets for local hospitals, making yarn snow balls for students with special needs at the Kauri Sue Hamilton School, writing thank you cards for local service members, and coloring cards for the elderly.

Great job and thank you for your wonderful acts of kindness JVLA students and staff!

Tree Planting Day at Riverton Elementary School Fun and Environmentally Friendly

It was a day to dig in and work together for future generations. Students, staff, and parents participated with Tree Utah in a tree planting day at Riverton Elementary School. They invested in the future by planting 20 trees throughout the school property. It was an opportunity for everyone to join forces for future generations of students.

More than 25 years ago, the School Community Council invested in the future of Riverton Elementary by creating an Outdoor Classroom. Their foresight provided respite for students and teachers during the pandemic. Similarly, Tree Utah is enabling the school to look forward, perhaps another 25 years, to future generations enjoying themselves at Riverton Elementary, finding respite in the shade of 20 trees just planted on school grounds.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this amazing project!
