Thank You Custodians, Mechanics, and Many More Once Again Pitching in to Take on the Task of Snow Removal at Schools and Offices

Mother Nature continues to provide Utah with an unprecedented amount of snow, despite the fact that the calendar says it is spring. All the snow has resulted in a tremendous amount of work for many dedicated employees constantly clearing sidewalks, parking lots, playgrounds, and more.

Thank you to all who have helped in the snow removal process; custodians, mechanics, sweepers, principals, and other staff members. We appreciate all of you, and are so grateful for the enormous time and efforts to make sure the areas in and around our schools and buildings are cleared for students, teachers, and staff.

Virtual Learning Day on Tuesday, April 4

Winter Weather Warning IconDue to adverse travel conditions and unplowed streets in many areas of the District, along with predictions by the National Weather Service of additional significant snow accumulations throughout the day, Tuesday, April 4, will be a virtual learning day for all students in Jordan School District.

All schools and offices will be closed on Tuesday, April 4.

There will be no in-person learning in our schools on Tuesday. No meals, no preschool, and no daycare will be provided. Teachers will be available to meet with students virtually between 10 a.m. and noon. Schools will communicate how to best connect with teachers and will share any additional schedule information.

District crews and contracted services will continue to clear snow throughout the day. A decision will be made regarding after-school and extracurricular activities by 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

Thank you for your understanding and support. Student and staff safety is our top priority.

Estimados padres,

All Smiles and Fun at West Jordan High Inclusive Dance Party

It was an amazing night to remember for some students and staff at West Jordan High School. Student Body Officers wanted everyone to have the prom experience this year, so they organized a dance party which included invites for all students with special needs at the school. The SBO’s escorted their classmates to the dance by arranging to pick them up on a party bus. Then, they were treated to a delicious dinner before the dance party began. The night included fun and festive outfits, pictures, lots of smiles, dancing and just pure joy.

Thanks to everyone at West Jordan High for making the Inclusive Dance Party possible and creating high school memories to last a lifetime.

Ridge View Principal Meredith Doleac is Named “Outstanding Principal of the Year”

A group photo celebrating Ridge View Principal Meredith DoleacShe is the principal of the fast-growing Ridge View Elementary School in Herriman and Meredith Doleac was recently surprised in a big way by her family, friends, students, staff, superintendent Godfrey and the Jordan Education Foundation. Ms. Doleac was named the 2023 “Outstanding Principal of the Year,” by the foundation.

She was selected, in part, for being an authentic leader for students, putting them at the center of every decision and advocating for what is in their best interest. Ms. Doleac takes time to listen, discuss, and validate in a calm and positive way with anyone she encounters. Another quality that many admire about Ms. Doleac, is that she is a natural mentor working collaboratively with a respect for her colleagues.

Congratulations, Principal Doleac! Keep up the great work helping to make students succeed each and every day.
