A True Act of Kindness as Jordan Ridge Elementary Students Support Newfound Friends with Special Needs at Neighboring School

They became fast friends after being introduced during a recent school event. Now, Jordan Ridge Elementary School students are taking kindness to new heights hoping to help their new friends at the neighboring Kauri Sue Hamilton School. Kauri Sue is a school for special education students with severe needs and kids at the two schools felt a fast connection.

Because of that connection, Jordan Ridge students ran laps for their own school today, and on behalf of Kauri Sue students, at the PTA sponsored Jogathon held indoors due to rain. They are raising money for Jordan Ridge Elementary and hope the community will donate to support the Kauri Sue Hamilton School. Jordan Ridge students simply want to make sure their friends with special needs feel the communities’ love and support, both in and outside the classroom.

Jordan Ridge Elementary is reaching out to people and businesses in the broader community for help to achieve their act of kindness, encouraging them to make a donation to Kauri Sue (through the Jordan Education Foundation) so they can show the students with special needs how much they care.

Way to go Jordan Ridge Elementary School on making your Jogathon a big win for everyone!

South Valley Students Travel Back in Time With Nostalgic 50’s Themed Homecoming Dance

Students at South Valley School enjoyed a memorable evening at this year’s homecoming dance with a 1950’s nostalgia theme. The dance featured a retro malt shop photobooth and attendees got into the spirit by dressing in 50’s inspired attire, including leather jackets, cardigans, poodle skirts, and Hawaiian shirts. Student Max Brown, also known as DJ Max, once again delighted the partygoers with a great selection of music.

Stylists from Taylor Andrews Academy in West Jordan generously provided complimentary hair and makeup services for students.

Kudos to the South Valley School staff and SBOs for creating a magical and unforgettable student experience!
