They are amazing employees and educators who have also served this country in uniform. As we salute veterans on Veterans Day 2025, we want to thank JSD employees, and their ancestors, for the courage, sacrifice, and dedication given to protecting the freedoms we all enjoy.

For some students it is the experience of a lifetime and something they will never forget. About 5,000 Jordan School District 4th graders were treated to a concert by the Utah Symphony Orchestra, performing at Copper Hills High School. The 87 full-time musicians love to reach out to young students and show them how a love for music, hard work, and dedication to achieving goals can lead to great things. The Utah Symphony Orchestra is considered one of the top professional orchestras in the United States.
Thanks to the Utah Symphony for the beautiful music and inspiring young students to reach for the stars.

The Jordan Native American Program hosted “Roots & Wings: Preparing Native Youth for What’s Next.” More than a dozen local business leaders attended, representing a diverse array of industries, including welding, education, healthcare, and law, to network and offer advice to the youth in attendance. Herriman High School counselor Ashley Heaton presented information on scholarships and financial aid available for those looking to continue their education. Local colleges were on hand to provide resources and information about their schools.

They are making memories and history at Mountain Shadows Elementary with their school mascot. Their mascot, the mountain lion cub, never had a name and really needed one. So, Principal Eardley went to work, first sending out possible names for adults in the building to consider. After narrowing the list down to just four, it was students who voted and sealed the deal on a name.
The name students selected for their mountain lion mascot, SHADOW! Principal Eardley revealed the name at a schoolwide assembly saying Shadow always follows the school’s four big rules of being Respectful, Safe, Responsible, and Kind.
