They are some of the unsung heroes in our schools, but today we sing their praises! Much of the work they do is behind the scenes, but it does not go unnoticed as they are always there to solve a problem and lend a helping hand. On this episode of the Supercast, we head to Monte Vista Elementary School to meet a kindergarten student named Hadley, also known in some circles as DJ LeeLee. Find out how the 5-year-old began her disc jockey journey and how playing a 51-minute, unaided set, at a Utah music festival this summer has DJ LeeLee well on her way to the record books. She is doing it all with help from her brother Carter, a DJ in 2nd grade. Let’s take a listen to the little internet sensations.

Chalk Festival at Bingham High Brings Art Class to the Sidewalk
Fine art took to the sidewalks on a beautiful fall day at Bingham High School’s annual Chalk Festival. Dozens of students participated in decorating the walkways outside the art classrooms with pieces depicting everything from Van Gogh’s The Starry Night to landscapes and superheroes.
Jordan District Students and Staff Support Orange Shirt Day
Orange shirts were a common sight in and around Jordan School District in support of Orange Shirt Day. This annual observance honors and recognizes the lasting impact of residential schools on Indigenous communities and affirms that Every Child Matters.
Ariana Haws, a Copper Hills High School senior and member of the Wilton Rancheria tribe, designed the shirt given to students and staff with the theme of ‘Every Child Matters.’ American United Credit Union sponsored the shirts to keep them free for students and staff.
Mountain Creek Middle Students are Learning Chinese, Creating, & Connecting with the Community!
They are bright and creative students learning the Chinese language and using their creativity to connect with the community around them. The Jordan School District Dual Language Immersion (DLI) Chinese students at Mountain Creek Middle School recently decided to team up with Ocean Mart Sandy for a fun Mooncake Design & Introduction Competition.
As part of the competition, students put their Chinese language skills, creativity, and cultural knowledge to real-world use, creating designs to decorate Ocean Mart, welcoming the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋节)!
We are proud to see Mountain Creek Middle students use their Chinese skills beyond the classroom and share their creativity in a unique way. A huge thank-you to Ocean Mart Sandy for allowing students this wonderful opportunity and for providing prizes to celebrate and encourage student creativity in and outside the classroom.
