Herriman High School Boys Buy Roses to Hand Out as True Act of Kindness and Caring on Valentine’s Day

They wanted to make sure everyone felt the love of kindness and caring at Herriman High School on Valentine’s Day. That’s why a group of Herriman High boys decided to carry on a tradition, which started in 2018, of raising enough money to purchase a rose for every girl or anyone else who would like one at school on February 14. This year, they purchased 1,400 white roses and personally handed them out as fellow students arrived at school Wednesday morning. The cupids also went classroom to classroom handing out the roses.

After they delivered roses to students at Herriman High, the boys headed to the Sagewood Senior Living Center in Daybreak, where they handed out roses to seniors, hoping to make them feel the love on Valentine’s Day as well.

Thanks to the Herriman High boys behind the project for making Valentine’s Day a special one for so many students and seniors.

Riverton High School Students Make Life-Saving Impact Through Blood Drive

HOSA students from Riverton High School recently hosted and ran a successful blood drive, with all donations going to ARUP Blood Services. The drive gives students real-world experience in the healthcare career field and provides 105 units of life-saving blood. Students’ hard work will significantly impact patients lives during a nationwide blood shortage.

So far this school year, student-run blood drives across Jordan School District have collected 705 units of blood that have been turned into 2100 blood products, which helped hundreds of patients at Huntsman Cancer Institute and University of Utah Hospitals.

Thank you to students and staff who have helped give life-saving blood to those in our communities who need it most.

Employees, Students and Parents Participate in Health & Wellness Day Activities

They enjoyed everything from wellness yoga, meditation, art, cooking, meal planning, and mindfulness classes, even a huge Health Fair. On Friday, Jordan School District employees were offered a variety of ways to focus on their personal health and wellness now and in the future. Friday, February 9, was the District’s third annual Health & Wellness Day for employees, students, and families.

Resources were made available throughout the day to help everyone focus on their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Virtual classes were offered, along with in-person activities designed to help staff connect with other employees and to support physical health and wellness.

The District also provided families with information, activities, and curriculum for students of all ages to help them focus on their own health and wellness. The resources were made available so parents could make choices about what would be most helpful and appropriate for members of their individual families.

A big thank you to all of our community partners who stepped up and supported the Health & Wellness Day by offering things like free use of gyms, a spa, jazzercise, meal storage with Beehive meals, and more.
