South Valley Students Receive Early Christmas Thanks to Caring Community

Student with giftIt was an exciting day for some South Valley students who were treated to a holiday shopping spree thanks to the support of a caring community and the Jordan Education Foundation. As part of the Foundation’s annual “Christmas for Kids” event, volunteers escorted the students through the aisles at Walmart in South Jordan where they were able to select their favorite toys clothing and other items, which may be the only gifts they receive.

The Foundation raised nearly $50,000 to help purchase gifts for 451 students throughout Jordan School District who may otherwise go without this holiday season. Due to COVID-19, the majority of students shopped online this year and volunteers did the in-store shopping for them at Walmart. The gifts selected online will be delivered in a drive-up, curbside event at the Walmart in South Jordan on Saturday.

Thank you to the amazing volunteers and community support which makes “Christmas for Kids” possible.
