Students Learn Nutrition, Geography, and History in Unique Health Class Project

West Jordan Middle School Students handing out food samples West Jordan Middle School students in Kathy Howa’s health class received a cross-curricular lesson on nutrition involving English and history teachers. First, students chose a country to learn about their history and culture. Then, the students had to pick a food dish from that country, list the ingredients, and make a poster about their findings. Finally, students had to give a presentation on their country and do a taste test for the class.

Ms. Howa said the project was a great team-building lesson and brought different departments and parents together. She received several emails from parents thanking her for the experience of being a part of their student’s project.

Great job, West Jordan Middle School teachers and Ms. Howa, for creating such an inclusive and unique project.
