Ridge View Elementary School 6th Grade Students Amazing in “Shrek The Musical, Jr.”

Students performingBig talent was on display on stage at Ridge View Elementary School as 6th grade students sang and danced their hearts out in an amazing production of “Shrek The Musical, Jr.” In the show, everyone’s favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. The cast, music, and choreography were delightful in a fun filled show for the whole family. The stage set and props were also amazing.

Congratulations to everyone involved in the production from the cast, crew, Ridge View teachers and staff, along with parents and Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning. Bravo everyone!

Congratulations Jordan School District Teacher of the Year!

Andrea Call Teacher of the YearShe cultivates positive relationships with her students each and every day and her classroom is a magical place. Those are just a few things colleagues say about Bingham High CTE/Business Teacher Andrea Call. Her students will tell you she is one of the best teachers they have ever had and some say her class changed their lives.

Andrea Call is an incredible educator devoted to the success of students in her classroom and that is why we ask everyone to join us in congratulating Ms. Call as Jordan School District’s “Teacher of the Year.”

Principal Rodney Shaw says Andrea Call goes well above and beyond what is expected of her in and outside the classroom. Andrea Call is an inspiration to those who know her and we couldn’t be more proud to have her represent Jordan School District in the state “Teacher of the Year” competition.

Keep up the incredible work, Andrea Call! Best of luck with the state competition.

Thank You, School Nurses, on this National School Nurse Day!

JSD School NursesJoin us in taking some time to say “thank you” to a school nurse today. This is National School Nurse Day. It’s a day to recognize our hard-working school nurses who go above and beyond every single day.

Our nurses are responsible for the health and well-being of thousands of students throughout Jordan School District. School nurses also serve our schools by teaching staff about important health care matters, doing vision screenings, Individual Health Care Plans, treating our students with allergies, diabetes, asthma and many other conditions. They participate in 504 meetings, IEP meetings, State School Nursing meetings, and so much more.

Our school nurses work hard, and do it with smiles on their faces. We could not do the important work we do as a District without our amazing school nurses.

Thank you, school nurses! Keep up the caring and compassionate work you do for students in all of our schools.
