Students Learn Nutrition, Geography, and History in Unique Health Class Project

West Jordan Middle School Students handing out food samples West Jordan Middle School students in Kathy Howa’s health class received a cross-curricular lesson on nutrition involving English and history teachers. First, students chose a country to learn about their history and culture. Then, the students had to pick a food dish from that country, list the ingredients, and make a poster about their findings. Finally, students had to give a presentation on their country and do a taste test for the class.

Ms. Howa said the project was a great team-building lesson and brought different departments and parents together. She received several emails from parents thanking her for the experience of being a part of their student’s project.

Great job, West Jordan Middle School teachers and Ms. Howa, for creating such an inclusive and unique project.

Elementary Students Dress Like Their Teachers for a Good Cause

Red Ribbon Week at Silver Crest Elementary is always filled with fun costumes and themed days, but this year’s kick-off event was just a little extra special for school staff. Students put their creativity to the test to make their best impressions of Silver Crest teachers for “dress like a teacher day.’ The results were hilarious, with students drawing on fake beards, wearing glasses, and finding clothes to match the ones their teachers usually wear.

What a fun way to start Red Ribbon Week and get the whole school involved.
